Reschedule for WBA ASIA Minimumweight title in HoChiMinh city. Vietnam amateur national boxing medalist, Huu-Toan Le will fight against Kitidech Hirunsuk from Thailand on March 20, 2022. Due to Visa issue of Hirunsuk, the event has been postponed.

The World Boxing Association (WBA) in its support for peace and the cessation of Russia’s invasion in Ukraine held this Monday a directorate meeting in which they unanimously approved the following actions:
1. The WBA will exclude Russian and Belarusian boxers from the next ranking lists. The measure is temporary and will be reviewed month by month. Current world or regional champions will maintain their status, and this will also be subject to review by the respective Committee.
2. We reaffirm the non-sanctioning of world and/or regional bouts in Russia.
3. Russian and Belarusian officials will also be banned from participating in world and/or regional championship fights, according to a resolution from the WBA Executive Committee.
4. Russian fighters will not be allowed to enter the ring with their flag, their anthem will not be played and the country will not be named.
5. Promoters or teams of Russian boxers who violate this provision may be sanctioned.
6. WBA reserves the right to exclude from its rankings boxers who are in favor of the war.
7. All measures shall be applied to Belarus.
8. All managers, promoters, trainers affiliated to the World Boxing Association will, to the best of their ability, seek mediation mechanisms for peace.
9. WBA will launch a campaign for peace.
The WBA through its president Gilberto Jesus Mendoza and its directorate is committed to carry out all necessary actions to achieve peace.
The measures we are announcing today are provisional and of immediate effect. They may be amplified or suspended as the situation progresses.

VIETNAM is back!!!

As WBA slogan, we always make efforts to be simply the pioneer. October 19, 2019, WBA ASIA had the biggest international boxing show in Vietnam boxing history with over 20,000 crowed in Hanoi. It became big news because it was the first ever Vietnam boxer's international title participation in Vietnam territory.
Another first ever will come soon. Due to Covid pandemic, our scheduled activities in Vietnam had been postponed, but Vietnam is back with WBA ASIA Minimumweight title on March 12, 2022. Huu-Toan Le (Vnm, 3(2KOs)-0-0) who is former two times Amateur boxing national Gold medalist would fight against Kitidech Hirunsuk (Tha, 7(5KOs)-0-0). We expect this fight would be competitive and entertaining for Vietnam boxing fans.
Shadow Entertainment Promotion promotes this important boxing show which belongs to Mr.Chris Luu who is the biggest boxing promoter in Vietnam. He supports various professional boxers including Eric Pen, Dinh-Hoang Truong.
Hopefully, this would be another cornerstone in Vietnam boxing.

WBA ASIA Super Featherweight becomes busy division

Roldan Aldea acquired WBA ASIA Super Featherweight title in Papua New Guinea on April 25, 2021. In considering pandemic situation, WBA ASIA has maintained his champion status despite of over due date with long-term inactivities.
Roldan was supposed to defend his title against Amateur veteran Chalie Suarez on March 5, 2022 in Manila, Philippines. However, Roldan got an injury that he could not go ahead for this fight. Through this, WBA ASIA decided to reactivate this division as follow;
Due to Roldan’s injury & long-term inactivities, Roldan Aldea will be classified as “In Recess” status. And, Chalie Suarez team will hold the WBA ASIA Super Featherweight title match against another opponent on March 5 as scheduled. The winner of this fight would try to make a defense match against Roldan Aldea if Roldan recovers from his injury.
In this Super Featherweight division, WBA ASIA EAST champion is another Amateur veteran, Mongolian prospect Tsendbaatar Erdenebat. And, WBA ASIA SOUTH title will be held in Dubai on upcoming February by Highland Promotions.
Super Featherweight division might be the most busy division for WBA ASIA in the early of this year, 2022.
