WBA ASIA Welterweight champion, Tewa Kiram (Tha, WBA#1), will challenge for WBA Welterweight title against Lucas Matthysse (Arg, WBA#3) on January 27, 2018 in USA. To activate WBA ASIA Welterweight division, WBA ASIA EAST Welterweight champion, Xing-Xin Yang (Chn), succeeded title as of November 30, 2017.

WBA ASIA ratings of September has been issued

WBA ASIA ratings for September, 2017 has been issued. As per our rule, Cruiserweight [Ruslan Fayfer] and Featherweight [Valery Tretyakov] divisions were vacated as of October 10. For activating each division, respective Sub-title champions succeeded regular champions as below ;

1. WBA ASIA Cruiserweight champion : Issa Akberbayev (Kazakhstan) [WBA#13]
2. WBA ASIA Featherweight champion : James Mokoginta (Indonesia)

So far, three sub-title champions succeeded 'Regular title' including WBA ASIA Super Featherweight champion Shavkat Rakhimov (Tajikistan).

WBA ASIA tremendous activities in September, 2017

This September would become tremendous month for WBA ASIA with various championship matches. First, WBA ASIA Heavyweight champion will be decided in Moscow, Russia. Even though WBA ASIA declined several times for WBA ASIA Heavyweight challenger Rostislav Plechko due to unqualified opponent, finally he will encounter Ibrahim Labaran on September 7 for our Heavyweight division. Also, in the same week, we have double header in Jakarta, Indonesia. James Mokoginta will fight with Manot Comput for WBA ASIA SOUTH Featherweight title and Ruben Manakane will fight for WBA ASIA Super Bantamweight title with Taweechai Juntarasuk (Petchnamnung Sithsaithong) on September 9. On the same day, in Chelyabinsk, prospective Mikhail Alexeev will encounter experienced Malcolm Klassen for WBA ASIA EAST Super Featherweight title.
Also, our first female championship will be held in China. WBA ASIA FEMALE Flyweight title between Hei-Tao Zhang and Chamaporn Chairin will be held in Xi-An city on September 23. In the early October, we would have great show in China as well. It will be announced soonest.
